• Are teacher recommendations necessary for admission to the program?

  We do not require teacher recommendations, however, our program is rigorous and designed for students who perform above grade level throughout the regular school year.

• What are the class sizes for the program?

  On average, each class has approximately 15 students.

• What grade should I list for my child when registering?

  Please list the current grade they are in for the 2022-2023 school year.

• Is financial aid available?

  We do offer financial aid on a case by case basis. Please contact our administrators for more information.

• Is transportation available or are metro cards given to students?

  Transportation is not available and our program does not qualify for metro cards.

• What supplies should my child bring to the program?

  All basic supplies are provided. However, students are welcome to bring in their own writing supplies if they wish. Occasionally, teachers ask students to bring items like cardboard or commonly discarded items to use for special projects.

• What does a typical day look like?

  Arrival is from 8:00am until 8:55. Students have their first class from 9:00am until 10:25. Their second class is from 10:30 until 11:55, followed by lunch and recess. They then have a final class from 1:-2:25. Regular dismissal is from 2:25-2:45.

• If my child is old enough, are they allowed to arrive and be dismissed by themselves?

  Yes, if your child is 12 years old or older they are eligible to arrive and be dismissed by themselves as long as you provide us with written permission.

• Is there a cell phone policy?

  Students are allowed to have cell phones but they must be kept within their bag at all times throughout the school day. Students are permitted to use their cell phones to call the person picking them up at dismissal time.

• Can the program and/or extended day be prorated if I only want to attend certain weeks/days?

  The program cannot be prorated. The full cost of the program is applied even if students must be absent for certain days.

• What classes will my child take?

  Each student will have three classes in three different concentrations. There is an English Language Arts class, a STEM class, and an Arts class. Our curriculum is project based, so students will engage in various projects in each class throughout the program.

• Is there a fee for late pick up?

  Yes. One incident of late pick up is forgiven. However, after the first incident, there is a $5 fee after pick up time and $5 per every additional 15 minutes.

• When will I receive an email informing me if my child has been accepted or denied?

  We will send out a confirmation as we evaluate each application.

• Is there a discount for siblings?

  Yes, after the first sibling pays full price, each additional sibling will receive a 10% discount.

• Are meals provided?

  Yes. Students have the option to eat both breakfast and lunch. These meals are provided through the NYC DOE distribution, so the menu is the same as it is for NYC schools.

• Is there a fee for late pick up?

  Yes. There is a grace period for the first late arrival. After the regular dismissal times of 2:40, and 4:40 (extended day), there is a fee of $1 per minute late.
